How To Participate
YOUR CHECKLIST
Before Sleeping:
1. The wristband is fully charged and worn correctly.
- Ensure it is fully charged before each sleep session. A full charge lasts ~12 hours. Use the included USB charger.
- Wear the Wristband Properly: Place it snugly but comfortably around your forearm or upper arm (recommended). Avoid making it too tight. (https://support.polar.com/e_manuals/OH1/Polar_OH1_user_manual_English/Content/Wearing-your-OH1.htm)
- Getting comfortable: Wear the wristband earlier in the evening to get accustomed to it.
- Power On: Turn on the wristband about ~30 minutes before bed.
To turn on the Wristband: Press the side button until the light turns green. The green light indicates activation.
2. The wristband is connected to Sleep as Android
- Test the Connection: Open the Sleep as Android app. Navigate to Settings → Sleep Tracking. Tap the light grey ~Test and move the sensor a bit to ensure the tracking band is connected and functioning correctly.
3. Ensure your phone’s Bluetooth and Internet are active during the night to enable data transmission.
4. Your phone is fully charged or charging during sleep. Best: Keep your phone plugged in during sleep to prevent energy-saving disruptions.
The App will automatically detect when you are falling asleep, you don’t have to think about it.
Note: The app’s AI may take a few nights to calibrate to your sleep patterns. Initial inaccuracies are normal. If you sleep during the day or at times outside your regular sleeping hours, you can also manually start the sleep tracking process.
After Sleeping:
1. Turn your Tracker off by pressing the Button on its side for a few seconds to safe battery and load it during the day.
2. If you successfully tracked your sleep, you will see a sleep graph inside the app, showing your individual sleep activity that influenced your sleep seed that night. (You can read more about how to interpret the sleep graph here: Sleep Graph Guide.)
3. Troubleshooting: If you only see a red bar, flat graph, or no graph at all and don't find the cause (https://docs.sleep.urbandroid.org/faqs/), you can contact me for further troubleshooting assistance.
